Yes it is Paul, great idea for general stuff but no good for metal. You can fit the old style mandrel to them as well, you just have to remove the quick lock on the back of the holesaw which reveals the threaded hole and the two locking holes. That would be the progressor set then?, I thought they were a gimmick when I first saw one, I have a conventional Bosch set which will also use pretty much any ordinary hole saw and have cut 4" holes in stainless many time with it.

harden and temper it I use one as wellhttps://www.mytoolshed.co.uk/starre...MnVmnJrccbS2uoj1R8lBnlXGMTNNYgt0aAviLEALw_wcB
I’ve ordered these. I do actually have one starret holsaw and the mounting mandrel. It was good so I bought the set now. I’ll try put a silver steel bar in like you’ve said @Paul. Thank you.
Oops my bad. I read that wrong haha. Yes that’s a good idea although the Bosch set has a hex head drill so that’s not possible with these. I’ll take them back and replace with staret set.
the object is using a piece of silver steel is there wont be any run off as the center drill has cutting edges and open the hole upYou can still pre-drill it then leave the supplied drill in just to use as a guide, not now yours is broken though

These are what I bought. The quick change is a good idea but as I say, the drill holder in the middle seems a weak link.
