Do you have a link to the IPCC report please ? I looked and found things that talked to climate and its impacts from IPCC but not one that tracked to targets.
I’m not sure who is asking for a Marxist state (had to look that up) but as noted in the thread capitalism and current democracy is not well set up for long term sustainable policies. Not that it can’t be changed to be so but I think it needs to move more in that direction.
And I think that’s what we see in the thread. Are EVs super green or as green as there are made out to be ? No but that message is what helps sell them.
Is it easier to talk about co2 reduction in Government and make it look like targets are made than really do them - yes because Government has a 3-5 focus.
But the co2 in the atmosphere doesn’t care about any of this and it’s not going to destroy the planet but will make human existence on it considerably more difficult so makes sense to look at the options and start making sensible changes.
it was all their on the IPCC site, last time I looked, though that was a year ago, the report is why governments focused on the 2050 date, I will have the link somewhere but not on my phone.
I think it’s initiated in the 96 report that projects the CO2 by 2050, and the 2018? report that references the actual half way through the 50 years
I agree we need to do more, but Greta only comes with the berating and demand that we do more, not the solutions that people can live with, as I have said it’s a problem but not the catastrophe claimed, look at the bbc report on Greta in Bristol, no solutions just do more, change needs to be reasonable and managed, it’s chaos otherwise, and no one wants chaos
and extinction rebellion are a Marxist group.
