I made made Port en Croute*, accompanied by haricot beans in a tomato sauce , oh and some heart shaped shortbread dipped in chocolate.
Went down very well.
Then sat and watched a DVD.
*Sausage roll.
When I say made I did actually make the pastry myself and the shortbread Maybe I need to start a baking thread ... or is that not manly enough
Should have taken her to a Lidl car park, and then you could have suggested that she pops into the store to buy you something after the 'trauma' of the sudden stop ……………………………….I got a slight case of whiplash.....
Had to buy a car this month so had nowt to get her a pressie with, she has been bugging me for months about learning to drive so I took her out for an hour tonight round the local B&Q carpark. Just a bit of clutch control but, every time I asked her to slow down and come to a stop she stamped on the brake pedal and brought us to a very abrupt stop. I managed to hold on to my temper throughout so I also earned a few brownie points as well....

I believe, never having tried them, that M & S Meals for two represent excellent value for £15 - I notice that Morrisons were doing similar deals.
