Hi Guys
Just wanted to give you the heads up on the Mitutoyo 2046S DTI advertised on FB by WISH.
I ordered one of these back in early January with a estimated delivery date of Jan 21st this was then revised to Jan 28th so when I had still not received it by 4th February I contacted WISH who promptly issued a refund.
So far so good and brilliant result as they also told me if the DTI should eventually arrive I was free to keep it.
Well this morning postman delivered the DTI and on opening the package everything looked OK little bag of accessories i.e Bezel clamp and limit indicators. As I was fitting the limit indicators I noticed it had a fixed bezel and also there was no dovetail for attaching the bezel clamp (Not that you need one with a fixed bezel)
I contacted Mitutoyo UK to check if they made a fixed bezel model and was told that they were 100% certain it was a fake.
Another giveaway was there was a screw hole for attaching the bezel clamp that went right through the casing instead of being a blind hole.
I would be very wary of using this now as there is no guarantee as to the accuracy.
The old saying If it looks to good to be true it probably is to good to be true certainly applies in this instance.
