I have a Guyson cabinet blaster - had it for years, only once topped up it's reserve of media and that was over ten years ago - time has come to do it again. (media falls into a square cone shape reservoir below the chamber for re-use being sucked up by a venturi in the gun)
Now this cabinet doesn't get used every day, not even every week, but tends to be in fits and spurts when I have a project on.
Trouble is I have no idea what the grit is that I'm using - it must be something pretty tough not to have all been reduced to dust - perhaps silicon carbide, but I'm not certain. It's pretty fine, but again I've no idea what the mesh was originally (and it's now probably finer than it was!)
I use it for cleaning parts, usually prior to painting, removing light rust, blemishes and old paint.
So what's a good choice and what's a good source please ?
