I have built a aluminium fuel tank for my car I want to run no gauge as it's a rally car just a simple light that warns when fuel is low
Hi, Just put a bolt through the tank at the appropriate level, insulated from the tank, and uses the fuel to complete the circuit. When the level drops below the bolt the circuit is broken then wire it through a changeover relay.
Colin
as it's a rally car
could poss use pressure switch from washing machine, if it would stand petrol?Fit an external tube coming from the bottom of the tank and fit a pressure switch, no petrol and electricity mixed
I like the sight glass idea @northwest has suggested. No electric involved so no risk of a freak spark.
I'd be more concerned about the crappy clear pipe leaking than any spark ever causing an issue....although a spark and that pipe...no.
