The person introduced as Dougs "Doctor" says he's a neurosurgeon, then says he spoke to Doug's "surgeon, sorry I mean surgical team" who are inexplicably discussing his burns (brain doctors could care less about mere burns) then he goes on to say the injury is "subacute, acute AND hyperacute" which for a single injury is a lot to believe. My somewhat limited research suggests is it's one or the other. Subdural does not mean bleeding "inside the skull" it specifically refers to bleeding under the dura, a thin skin inside the skull which wraps around the brain (incidentally keeping the brain itself in a completely sterile environment). The he describes the "acute and hyperacute" injury as meaning the blood is "coagulating OR bleeding", again, exact opposites.
I just don't buy it. Smacks of a scam or a rather distasteful publicity stunt. If that bloke's a neurosurgeon, I'm a Chinaman.
Well looks like your scepticism is well tuned. If there's 2 things I hate on youtube its click bait titles and fake stuff. I've just unsubscribed and I can see hes getting a lot of flack in the comments. Should be interesting to see how many subscribers he loses over it. What an idiot!
I actually donated monthly to Seeker via Patreon until that point @Screwdriver and whilst I never saw that exchange I did stop after his comments regarding donations.
His own personal Rather moment?
Ratner? (Damned predictive text? )
His own personal Ratner moment?
Hi screwdriver and everyone else.
I am very disappointed with all this having spent 15 years plus trying to ram the dangers of using oxy-acetylene in the work place ,first acetylene gas is classified as an explosive, and should be treated as such , so safety courses should be organised and attended before a person gets anywhere near it ALL safety precautions should be adhered too, it really is a dangerous material.
I am 94 years old now and was teaching welding at a High School for Education when the now hated Health and Safety regulations were introduced and know how hard it was to get people to take care of themselves.
Have a look round the garages near you and see if the acetylene cylinders and oxygen cylinders are stored separately also other gas cylinders ie propane / butane etc. and also right next to the waste oil tank. Take care everyone, look after yourselves
Plenty of amateurs have built good boats. I have seen some that were better built than profesionals.
Seems to be a common thread amongst some that they seem to think they are possesed of some kind of divine right. You tube has given many of them a means to fulfill their "dream".
I have not watched any of SV Seekers vids before & wont be starting now. He reminds me very much of George Mc Kay a religous nutcase who built the wooden sailing vessel Raw Faith, he "designed" her himself & took advice from nobody.
The thing was so poorly thought out & assembled that it constantly got into trouble until finally sinking.
There is a long thread on the Wooden boat forum if anyone is interested. All i can say it was a terrible waste of good oak trees!

Welcome to England Mr Sclewdliver!
Incredibly, he actually is a real neurosurgeon: https://www.oksbi.com/dr-thambuswamy.html
He's friends with the actor who plays the other part in this hoax, though it's hard to think of a worse error of professional judgement. I would imagine he's regretting it.
我完蛋了 !
