Does anyone else do this?
I've used a MT3 adapter for magdrill bits for quite a while now, much quicker and easier than twist drills over say 13mm. I also have a huge stock of magdrill bits.
but... especially since I fitted my X-Y table to the drill... I get a horrible amount of movement in the quill It's an Arboga geared head MT3 drill, it's only around 10 years old and not done very much work at all, and drills straight as a die with regular twist drills.
Anyone got any solutions? There ISN'T excessive slop in the quill, but maybe the sideways forces from the offset cutter teeth are just too great for the design strength of the quill.
