Some of you may remember way back in the summer last year I acquired a Land Rover 110 that was a bit rough looking
Well, today I finally had the time and a suitable trailer and help to go and pick it up. Having sat for a number of years unmoved and definately unloved it had acquired a nice film of green tree sap and other organic matter!
Once I got it up the road and unloaded it was time to give it a wash. Over an hour later with a brush, pressure washer and some step ladders (to do the roof!) it was looking a hell of a lot better.
A quick assessment of it reveals a long list of things to be renewed and fixed:
New chassis required
Replacement bulkhead
New doors
New seats
New window seals
new rear lights
New rear propshaft
repainted in original shade of blue
Full engine service
Full overhaul of axles
The list looks big and expensive, but the cost is offset somewhat by the fact I got the vehicle for nothing off a friend.
I'll hopefully post updates as I progress throughout the year.
