Oh to have the room.....
It's in a single prefab garage, tight to say the least!!
Oh to have the room.....
Wow very jealous to have scrap like that.
Like the nameplate on the front u/s.btw how flat?
The plate had a slight bow in it but I ensured the frame was fabricated as close to even as possible. The pate was then centred and clamped down to the frame before fixing. I would say about a millimetre out across the diagonals dipping in the centre so happy with that.
How did you go about clamping the table down? My own tables got a bow in some movement which I think would be helped by clamping it down tight and adding new welds.
I used the large grey clamps you can see on the second picture. Took a lot of force but they did the job. Simply clamped the plate down, welded directly underneath and then moved the clamps up a little and so on and so forth. Not the best method but worked out well.
I found out that castors like that don't last long with a heavy table on. I got these HD ones, 100mm did, 55mm wide cast wheels.View attachment 207700
You could always add some supporting blocks to take the weight off the castors when not moving it, I suspect there may be some heavy banging on that table....ooh errr, missus!
