I have used the next size up, for example I have used 1.2mm with 1mm wire and 1.4mm with 1.2mm wire but the wire does seem to wander a bit more. Whether that is just imagination or not I have no idea but as the "A" ones are just the same price as standard ones and Alu is all I weld with Mig I just buy the right ones.
....even the top end silver coated ones, which we all agree at work last way longer.

Try a local supplier, I pay about that for a packet of 100.I am struggling to find 'a' tips for my MB15 torch at a sensible price!
The cheapest ones I can find are from R-tech but they are quoting £14 delivery for 20 tips!

Not surprising. You wouldn't run 1.0mm wire in an MB15 gun as a rule - 0.8mm is the commonly preferred size. And in aluminium, you're gonna be making some cold, cold welds without overheating an MB15.No such thing around here, I was at my nearest decent supplier 75 miles away & they didn't keep any ally mig tips at all. He said to use the next size up but he didn't keep any tips for a MB15 bigger than 0.8mm!
