I’ve been faffing around with the sensor, similar to this:
which activates the security lights on the front of the house, but to no avail.
It works fine, but I can’t get the sensitivity or projection of the sensor ‘beams’ set up correctly to avoid it picking up trees etc resulting in the lights going on / off unnecessarily. If I turn it down to avoid this, it’s useless as a security or ‘welcome home’ device in that you have to walk right up close before it senses.
I’ve come to the conclusion that perhaps the best solution is to have a device which projects a beam across an opening (in this case the entry to our drive) which operates the lights when it’s broken by a car or pedestrian. This would mean the lights only come on when needed and not because the trees are being blown around.
Does anyone have experience of fitting this type or can recommend a product based on experience?
Thanks.
