Has the opposite disc worn the same just minus the scores?
It could well be me but the bottom of the pad doesn’t look like it’s in contact with the disc.

8 months is largely irrelevant, how many miles has the car done in those 8 months?
The disc has a large enough ridge at the outer edge that I would be changing the discs and pads when the pads get to about 20% of original thickness.
The groove will have been a stone or similar, possibly a larger than normal lump of metal in the pad. They have a higher concentration of metals in them since asbestos was removed but it’s nothing to worry about.
