Excelent Job lads! I have moved a fair few machines out of & into educational establishments & its always fun.
Most nerve wracking was at the college where i used to work, they bought a dirty great XYZ mill on ebay & i with a friend got the job to move it into the new workshop. The mill weighed at least 2.5 tons & had to roll down several corridoors & several corners. One of these was over an old subway now flooded. I asked the premises manager how thick the roof was & could it take it. He didnt actually know only that it was concrete over some wriggly tin. On his head the job rested! We spread the load with 1" thick sheets of plywood & got away with it.
I suspect that if the machine had dropped through the floor we would have just had to shot a lorry load of type 1 over it & concreted it in place!
