They are made to charge li-on battery packs, Uncountable numbers of li-on battery packs are charged with these in the RC world , how are tool batteries any different ?

That's not a Makita charger though is it, its a cheap knock off not made to any safety standards and with the minimum PCB, i doubt it has the same protection circuits as a real one, the knock off batteries certainly don't.Ease of use.

Am I right that the 6s balance connection on the Makita battery would be polarised from one end to the other the same as the socket on the imax , all I need to do is match up negative pin and the rest will follow in order ?
The imax is a proper charger.
Would you like me to find your a genuine one or can you manage that?
