Is that a non lxt drill? Its got no charger.
So now i need to know how to wire the balance charging pins on the battery to my imax charger.
My imax B6 doesn't seem to have a non balance charge function for li-on, I just get an error message if I try it.By opening the battery case ( if that is not glued together ) you can trace which cell each pin on the battery's balance connector joins to. However, you would then need to get a 5S JST-XH plug and harness for the IMAX, and you would have to fabricate a plug to fit the balance socket on the Makita battery ( or attach the balance harness to the battery permanently ).
I doubt if you'd degrade or damage this old battery much by just ignoring balance, and charging it on the IMAX at a low rate.

The imax is a proper charger.Buy a proper charger! There's a reason why they blow cool air through the battery when charging and monitoring the temp/voltage... keeps the cells from heating, which shortens their life and ultimately can fail spectacularly!
The imax is a proper charger.
Gonna agree. Imax for testing but wouldn't be using it for regularl chargesFor blowing up batteries, maybe. Don't be tight, the proper job is on Ebay for not much cash S/H. You got the drill and battery for free, after all?
Why ?Gonna agree. Imax for testing but wouldn't be using it for regularl charges
