I had to replace the coil on a McCulloch 240e chainsaw for a customer
Before doing that the chainsaw ran fine , I've properly adjust the carburettor few months before the coil gave up.
Good sounding an little bit on the rich side ,did that because it's an old chainsaw and it's better to have little bit more fuel to preventing connecting rod to break at higher RPM and keeping the chainsaw well oiled and just preventing overheating, cylinder scoring etc
After I've replaced the ignition coil using an aftermarket one ,I can't get the chainsaw running properly
Carb tuning results too rich or too lean but it runs ,great trigger response in both cases , consistent RPMs but isn't running properly ,if I give more fuel it bogs out ,if I give more air it revs up to something like 13000 15000RPM
The chainsaw has to reach maximum 11000RPM and before the coil replacement it was at roughly 10000 10500 RPM
I can't find that sweet spot
I don't have a tachometer but I know how it must sound
So I need some advices to understand what is wrong with the engine
Diaphragms are new
Spark plug is new
Ignition coil is new
Fuel lines and filter are new
It has good compression
Spark arrestor is clean
I thought might be because the arm between needle valve and diaphragm needs to be adjusted but I didn't touch the carburettor during the time period between old coil and new coil
I'm in serious difficult but in all this the chainsaw runs , not the proper way but it runs
