Iv never ever disconnected a battery for welding and Iv never had an issue in all the time Iv worked on cars and now with 9 people in my team had an issue

Here we go again. I think that the recent threads should be merged into a sticky. It's just like a religion, you can give as much scientific and rational evidence as you like but you will never shake their faith in disconnecting the battery. The fact that doing so turns the wiring into a high impedance aerial doesn't faze adherents either.
