Hi all,
I've seen loads of posts/websites etc telling me all the wonderful advantages of a gas lens over a standard collet. However, what I haven't been able to ascertain is why anyone would choose to use a standard collet (non gas lens) over a gas lens. Presumably people do as most torches seem to come with a standard collet and there are lots of standard collet kits out there to buy.
The only ones I've thought of are:
Thanks!
Alan

The only ones I've thought of are:
- Cost (irrelevant to me as I'm a hobbyist and expect my gas lens to last me a very very long time with the amount I'll be using it)
- Size (seems to only be relevant when comparing to a stubby version of the standard collet as the gas lens as the standard standard collet is about the same length at least as the gas variant)
Thanks!
