Most of the Welsh farmers still run Land Rovers - as do the cockle pickers. They switched to Jap 4x4s but then discovered they rusted out faster than the Land Rovers ever did.
In the salt mines in Antrim (yes really) they used to run land rovers and changes over to Japanese stuff.
Changed back pretty sharpish to the Land Rovers not because of rust issues (they all rust) but because the wiring and electronics didn't last a crack on the modern stuff.
They don't know what to buy now as the Land Rover has been replaced and everything is stuffed full of computers now.
Interesting fact, the kit that stays in the mine gives no bother with rusting or dodgy electrics because the air is so dry.
It's the gear that's in and out all the time, like the land rover for transporting people, that gives the mega bother.
