I'm the property owner, new to building, It's my first house, doing it Direct Labour. These guys are reposnsible for the shell. I found out today that he is a certified welder but mainly a carpenter (Carpenters is the trade normally involved with ICF building).
Maybe he doesn't get a lot of practive, but his theory should be right, he'll bne the one signing it off. It doesn't excuse the poor welding, but these beams will work harder at holding themselves up, the Roof is incredibly lightweight, it will have a couple of batons, boards and a metal roof. Slates would be a lot heavier.
THe manufacturer Engineer went back to his 'go to' welders, and they said "it was rough as hell, but fit for purpose" , whatever that means...apparanty good enough
Man, this building game can be a right pain in the hole
