Morning all
I'm after a bit of guidance on TIG welding bodywork on a van.
From my memory way back when I first started 'welding' with my MIG , the 'rule' was that if you wanted to weld you needed to take the petrol tank out. I remember doing some welding a long way away from the tank and didn't bother.
What is the deal with Diesel tanks? do you need to drop them if you are going to be Tig welding some sheet steel onto a door? Are there rules about how close to the tank you can weld? I have tried a google search but the results seem to all be regarding welding the tank itself rather than welding other parts of the van.
Thanks in advance
James
