Very informative tips thereLook at the graceful sweep of those curves, thats one of the keys to a successful pleasing "look". It really doesn't matter that much what the thing is, it matters more to the eye that the lines do not jar.
The scrolling from the base to the neck is a pretty complex and difficult feature to create in rebar or copper pipe but it is crucial if you want to please the eye. Each one of those scrolls is consistent without being lumpy or misshapen and they are interestingly aligned with the other scrolls and curves.
You don't have to mimic exactly the precise structure of the item you are copying but you should concentrate on the elements it is composed from, try to keep them geometrically accurate and where curves meet, look as much at the lines as you do the spaces they create between.
You could easily knock up another much simpler design using say 2-3 simple scrolls. Would look quite nice then perhaps add to it bit by bit.
So,when will yours be on display for all us to see?
