Thats newGoing to give it a go on ac tig with copper filler
Silicone bronze will cost a fortune
i have some cast rodsThats new
why not just use Ni cast iron rods
I think TIG is the worst process for CI, unless you get it very hot and I mean very hot and then you burn yourself........TIG puts too much heat in
Id use them.......dont preheat....use the lowest current you can to maintain an arc......little beads.......one side then the other.....some say peen but I dont know what it does........if you leave gaps fill them with wood filler or something....its only cosmetic reallyi have some cast rods

Yes I know the theory but theres no science / metallurgy that proves it....as far as I know..........plus Ive no practical experience that it prevents cracking....for me, once the alloy had solidified there is little that can affect it, other than work hardening which would be the polar opposite of what you would want......but some swear by it and unless you tap the CI by mistake it cant really do any damage. It releases built up stress from weld shrinkage
....do you use sticks?Must admit, I’m in two minds as to its effectiveness. Certainly don't peen thin stuff, I’ve learnt that the hard way
....do you use sticks?
isnt it double sidedMe,i'd cut a bit of say stainless sheet same size and glue the sign on to it keep the cracks authentic
