I’d normally ask my father in law, but that would mean inviting him round...
Just trying to pretty up the outside of the workshop to make it less of an eyesore.
The garage itself is shoddily built, and the felt roof isn't the best - but at the moment I can't afford to do what it really needs, ie., bulldoze it and build a new one.
So, the boarded over window needs to go, and do something about the horrible render / paint. A new door is in order.
Option 1: Remove window and brick it up, render over and paint. Quite a bit of work in that, and I’m no brickie.
Option 2: I quite like the idea of cladding it with some nice wood, but I'd need to increase the roof on these two sides by a bit to make room for the cladding and new fascia. Can I just screw a batten on and patch over it with felt? This is what I had in mind - would it work?
Existing wall/roof
Wall / roof in my head
Any advice or alternative ideas will be much appreciated!
