Today I have been MIG welding stainless steel with 100% argon. I know that this is not recommended and either a Argon / Co2 or even Argon / Co2 / Helium mix would be advantageous but that’s all we had.
What I’d like to try and understand is why 100% argon produces the crap looking weld that it does. Could anyone offer any thoughts on this?
