Somewhere we’ve got a Dewalt I gave £60-70 for about 6 years ago. Still going. Noisy but puts in a Days work. New dewalt plasticky, heavy, vibrate, switch is useless.Like Bosch and hitachi also gone that way, cheapened to compete with the budget jobs, few years ago I bought back some oldies that give a decade or more service, hoping I can get parts when needed.
Just had my old hilti back from repair,it’s decades old,£47 inc pat test + vat.
Obviously there’s a balance to be assessed when spending on repair.
The Makita we are using at work at £55 and brand new they’re as noisy and vibrate as much as the old dewalt.
I have a corded and cordless (branded snap on but made by Metabo)Anybody tried/got one of the flathead Metabo grinders and if so are they as useful for tight spaces as they make out?
I have an old Dewalt grinder, it's been good but god damn does it sound dreadful. Why do grinders make such an awful noise just free spinning?
I tried new grease in mine and it made no difference. Just wear ear plugs permanently now!I have an old Dewalt grinder, it's been good but god damn does it sound dreadful. Why do grinders make such an awful noise just free spinning?
Try some ep90.I tried new grease in mine and it made no difference. Just wear ear plugs permanently now!
Vibration i used to do about 50 hours a week doing little but grinding when i started working in the 80s. Must have lost all sense of it now because i dont feel any difference in my makidas or latest Matabo.Makitas vibrate like Doodle and burn out in hours. Not made like they once were.
Nothing is made like it used to be.
