Not long after I left school, I worked as an electricians mate. The company was a one man band, the boss & me. Ask a question on how to do something & you’d get “if I told you, you’d be as wise as I am” what an attitude, he sacked me in a fit of temper one day for doing something wrong!
Later I realised that I'd put too much confidence in the concept of "team"

delusion jealousy and paranoia mr secret is suffering fromThere is no 'U' in 'his team'; he probably deluded himself that as he thought it up he actually did it. Same as Brunel built all those railways, ships and bridges all on his own.

My manager asked me to build somthing. This was a unit that he had tried, and failed, to build himself.
So I built it. Wasn't an easy build, and, realistically, he would have had no chance. It played to my existing skill set more than anyone elses there.
Somtime later I overheard him showing it off to some visitors to the site, with the words "I built this...."
At the time I didn't really care. I took it as showing off the "team's" work to visitors.
Later I realised that I'd put too much confidence in the concept of "team"
