Have been supplied an air fed at work a couple of months ago, an ESAB G40.
Great visibility with gold plated lense, which i prefer by a mile for any Tig welding.
Sure makes a difference to not be blowing black boogers out of my nose of an evening, and am generally happy with it. Although going to have to find some Carbon active odour pre-filters for it, as spicy food the night before twinned up with an airfed without one the next morning..... well its not for the faint of heart
The only negative is, its not the sort of welding lid you can "nod" down due to having a face seal. No problem tig welding, but ive always been used to nodding down a headshield rather than flipping down a liftup lense when stick welding anything in position and am getting pulled up by QA guys for stray arc-strikes outside of preps, especialy fillet welds.
Does anybody have any recommendations for a 110x90mm auto lense (cartridge size) that i could replace the standard lense for when doing any stick welding, which has a good clarity level and any controls actually on the lense unit rather than remote and linked with a wire??
