Hello,
First post from a newbie. I've tried searching these forums but can't find a definitive answer. We have a Potterton oil-fired domestic boiler that is leaking from the heat exchanger, seems to be from the corner, or edge, rather than a giant crack top to bottom. Not a lot of water, but enough that something needs to be done. Plumber says a new boiler is required, but I wonder if it can be repaired. Anyone tried welding the heat exchanger to seal it again? Is that even possible? Just wondering before I bite the bullet and go for the new boiler.
Thanks in advance,
Duncan
