Been meaning to make or buy similar for a while.yep.
spade bit, forstner bit, or (for bigger holes) router circle jig[1] for wood.
[1] i have a trend "pivot frame jig" which can cut perfect circular holes in any size from bit diameter upwards, but a trammel type jig works
Dunno mate. Have a lot of the Bosch occasionally give em a quick sharpen and they keep going mainly wood and composites mind.
What were you doing with it.
There's one in my box that was used to drill 30 holes through 45mm c16 then 10mm structural steel then through another layer of c16.
It's still in the box and happily chugging away through wood.
Need to replace the arbours occasionally as they wear.
Put a chainsaw file to a big one a few weeks back then drilled out the center hole for my fixed steady no drama.
Aye. There not really aimed a full on metal cutting I don't think.Main use is on steel so maybe unfair.

they are *fantastic*.
to the point i have dedicated a router to it permanently.
tbf, i have too many routers[1], so its not really that big a deal.
theres a book dedicated to its use by the inventor: "decorative routing" by jack cox.
well worth the 3 or quid from amazon.
[1] apparently
Currently sitting at 5 routers. Want an 18v dewalt bottle trimmer too.
Will have a nosey and see what there going for these days.
Shame. Looks like I'll be making then.if you mean the pivot jig, they're NLA.
Havent seen one on the bay for a while.
i have 5 elu routers - one in the fixed router table, one being set up in a home made "woodrat" clone.
a bosch gof900 (first i ever bought) with the pivot jig attached
a "challenge extreme" cheapy.(should get rid of this really)
a 1970s b+d in a small portable "table"
a 1980s b+d trim router mounted in a wolfcraft x-y milling drill press thing.
oh.
and a craftsman that i bought a couple of weeks ago with no collet or nut. so scrap, basically since they are NLA (from anywhere )
im after a BIG router - about 3000-3500w - with speed control for the router table.
and a cnc.
and one that will fit in a RAS frame
I use my laminate trimmer for chopping in locks hinges etc and been waiting for the cordless dewalt for a while. Much easier than trailing leads around a house.and now i want a cordless one.
just because...
to use in wood?

It's not critical for the next 8 months so I'll let the price come down a ways first.
Never bothered.I always end making a new hinge jig from scrap. Going to permanent mark and varnish this one:

Never bothered.
Center drill the hinges in position.
Pop one screw in and score around with a Stanley knife.
Route by hand with the bottle trimmer and jobs a goodun.
If I was site bashing I'd buy a trend jig but not worth it for fitting doors in old frames.
Hitachi m12 v1 or 2 depending on budget.I have actually been thinking about getting a router and am stuck between the bosch gmf 1600, trend 11, or festool of1400. Any suggestions or thoughts on which one would be better.
Hitachi m12 v1 or 2 depending on budget.
My v2 has been abused for years and is perfect.
Picked up a v1 to go on a router table
Would replace without thought like for like.
Best 1/2 inch going
Comes with 1/4 collet too.

Should fit Makita and festool tracks
And fit most routers.
