Most of the family is away next week so I want to take the opportunity to strip the finish off the oak floor in the dining room and re-apply. This is solid oak flooring 90mm wide T&G strips. Under the dining table the finish is worn through from the chairs (and feet).
Should I use a chemical stripper or just sand it down (or both)? If I'm sanding can I just use my DA sander or will that leave visible swirl marks?
Finally, what is the best stuff to re-apply afterwards, for a hard-wearing finish.
