want to get it right first time
Or translated as:
I don't have any spare to make a mistake.
Beat me to it.They're the same, same colours to same terminal numbers... Go by the numbers printed/moulded into the wallplate socket.

Both. There are 2 standards for wiring them. 568A and 568B.
Just make sure all your wiring is the same. if you have sockets they will have a guide for each standard
This is what I’ve got, how do I wire it up? Today it’s not making sense
The B standard is what I’m aiming for

They are numbered on your unit. The socket points aren’t numbered on my unit, I can’t get my head round if I pair up as in pic 1 or cross over like pic 2
They are numbered on your unit.
1 is white and green.
2 is orange.
3 is white and orange.
6 is green
7 is white and brown.
8 is brown
4 is blue
5 is blue and white.
With the numbers orientated correctly from top left down. Then top right down.
And having to use cheap parts 'cos the company wants to save money, leaving you the job of fault finding the intermittentsMy knees still remember terminating a large office full of floor mounted RJ45 outlets
Just try and leave each pair twisted until just before the terminals
Most cables you buy are on standard A so do your sockets the same way. It doesn’t make a huge difference but might as well keep it the same. If you grab a cable and look at the plug you will see they are wired as A
