Ivy seems notoriously difficult to get rid of
Use ammonium sulphamate. It'll get rid of anything and is relatively eco-friendly.
Ivy has waxy leaves that dont absorb the glyphosate. You could cut it off at ground level and apply a killer to the sump at the right time of year.

Agree entirely - it's very, very effective. My front garden was overrun with Ivy, so I used a combination of spraying and cutting and drilling the big stalks and injecting ammonium sulphamate. and add a gallon og vinegar with it and some washing up liquid it works a treat even on hosemare100kgs of rock salt will kill everything for 10 years.
