I'm slightly ashamed to say my mum gave me this advice when I was 18 and building my first kit car. Setting a lot of pop rivets through the bodywork into the tub and my dads old hand riveter stopped working - it must have been 20 years old then.
It still works today . . .31 yrs later
I got my cheap Neilsen air riveter to refit the roof on a horse box and it has been used many times since. I have a few pairs of lazy tongs & hand pull riveters & they never get used.
I have been known to staple trouser bottoms before, never thought of using a hot glue gun!
