My 2002 Volvo v70 d5 cambelt tensioner failed knackering head. My fault, I kept putting job off.
Engine had done 230,000 miles. Average for one of these. I have stripped it for parts and decided to look inside the head to see what had been destroyed ( valves and cam caps).
What was interesting was the condition of the cams - no wear at all. Slight polishing of lobes but no measurable wear. Incredible.
The original driveshaft failed recently and I worked out it had done 16,000,000 revolutions.
