I got tired of rooting through my box of random drills so i made this drill tidy. It took ruddy ages drilling all them holes. the bearing was pressed and glued in so i can remove off its stand and sit it on a bench flat.
Mine live in the drawer and I set the calipers to the size needed and hunt.i dropped my big new box of drill bits today took me ages to sort them out 1mm up to 10mm in 0.1mm increments
ha that works too not sure id trust the calipers for .1mm thoughMine live in the drawer and I set the calipers to the size needed and hunt.
One day il get more organised.
Omg I wouldn’t want to make a drill tidy with them increments. It was a nightmare with 0.5mmi dropped my big new box of drill bits today took me ages to sort them out 1mm up to 10mm in 0.1mm increments
Best get your mics out then, missed the .1ha that works too not sure id trust the calipers for .1mm though

very true just time consuming0.1mm is 4 thou well within the capability of even cheap calipers.
cunning i like that ideaIf you're trying to find a particular size of drill from a bunch of similar-sized drills there's an easy way to do it. Grab a bunch in your hand and hold them like you're going to 'draw straws'. Now take your digital caliper and put the jaws across the whole line of drills, it will grab the biggest one. Pluck it out with the caliper jaws and drop it back in the box. The next one you grab will be the next size down. Just keep doing that until you get to the size you need.
