All we need now is a Mr Fusion on the topDon't care, I think it's a great idea, gearless high torque electric motors sound perfect.
Fix the batteries and they'd be ideal.
There are 3 sides to every story
My feelings on electric vehicles are quite well known, apparently it's my fault they are not suitable due to how I need to use mine.
Also the way the materials for the batteries are mined is appalling, massive environmental damage and virtual slave labour in some cases
But yeah, you can get a feeling of huge smugness while you drive around in your "green" car
Electric trials are awesome. Sure the mx would be too. Even an etrackbike but for commuting distance they don't work. Our road network is too unreliable*kayos for transport minister*
Only messing but do agree.
Electric vehicles do have there uses but for the vast majority of times are still unfit for purpose.
I do like the idea of an electric motorcycle still but the 40 mile range is pointless,
They did a studdy of craddle to grave for hybrid vs normal cars at brunnel i think it was. land rover disco 1 or 2 ( cant remeber which) vs original prius. Land rover turned out to be the greener car even in v8 format as less went into its manufacture, more of it was recycleable and going on some discoverys could have a projected life span max 30 years most likely 20, they concluded the prius would be dead by 15. They said that that last five years really made a difference. So good ness knows how eco my 72 series 3 88 is was on the road for 45 years before its major overhaul started.Funny I recall reading a paper when the Prius came out explaining that it had a significant carbon footprint when you look at the entire process from raw materials, manufacture and use over its life to end of life recycling. Made me think a gas guzzling Defender with a life probably at least 3 times a Prius may have less impact.... my Defender really is green
Owners shouldn't be allowed to divorce themselves from it, I have got into some pretty heated discussions with EV owners insisting their car is "green" its only as green as the energy you put in it and you cannot get away from that. The same goes for battery production. EV owners should be taxed just as hard as ICE owners and it ploughed into cleaner more sustainable energy production. The tax should also relate to the sustainability of the cars manufacture and recyclability including battery end to end life.

Aye but even trials or mx I'd be having a spare Lipo pack or 3 to slot in as required. If manufacturers are on the ball it should be a 60 second job to swap out and shove it on a fast charger.E track bikes won't work as do 120+miles on track in a day. Do 20-25miles a 20minute session so would need to change out batterys every session.
Look at tt zero where they are only making 37miles with a little (if any) to spare
