I have always found it easier to attach the plate and tube to the engine whilst it is hanging on the crane and then lift the stand back on to the tube, put the pin in and lower it back to the groundThe 4 leg one is hard to load with the engine crane
That's how I do it. That's why I normally use the cheap 3 leg version as I can swing it around on the crane and drop it in between the crane legs. true but you can usually twist the engine enough to put one leg of the stand just outside the V of the crane, not ideal but not bad enough to make me want to buy another onethe 4 leg stand won't fit in the gap
