Just over a year ago I bought an Alfa 159, mainly for the wife as her daily driver though also for longer runs for us both, she hated it and I loved it....
to cut a long story short, it turned out to be a bit of a bargain and I have sold it today (for £3200 more than I paid for it 13 months ago!) to an Alfa enthusiast (also a Fiat Alfa Mechanic).
So now what to buy - looking for something comfortable for long runs, plenty ground clearance and preferably 4x4 and not too big. Also needs to meet new emissions regs for driving into Glasgow. Part of the trigger for the sale was the wife loving driving my dad's 2010 Honda CRV.
We have a budget of £17k max, will do about 6k miles a year and ideally want to keep it for 5 years.
So what to get?
Easy choice would be a newer 1.6 Diesel CRV - though concerned about low mileage and DPF issues plus the AWD on the newer CRV's does not seem to get a good reputation.
Also thought of looking at a Mazda CX-5 or a Mitsubishi Outlander? any advice appreciated.
Looking into this will take the wife's focus of the Centec Mill I have just bought
