snap , was my main vehicle of choice for 2 years, swb galvanised chassis ,converted to diesel myself, no servo assisted brakes, 2.25 diesel on 750 wheels she could pull 5omph all it cost me in parts for the 6years that i had it was a rear wheel cylinder, now that cant be bad, plus i got what i paid for it when i sold it.At least once a week I commute in my series Landrover.
It's only 20 miles each way, keeps the vehicle in good shape.
Why not?
More reliable than a modern car, no ECU, no DMF, no limp home mode.
Costs less to service, less to tax, insurance is cheaper, even with commute cover.
Plus no depreciation, which is the big cost of new cars.
need to get this old girl done and use it
Footman James does a drive to work add on, I think it's only £20 extra
I have had a classic motorcycle policy with Peter James (different company I'm assuming?) for a couple of years now, the first year 'commuting to work' were included in the small print, I noticed that they have now removed that.
I'm also limited to 1000 miles per year,....what does Footman James policy say on the mileage front?

How does anyone know what mileage you have or have not done ? There was a mileage thing on my policy too, but no one kept notes on miles done.

I use a 40 year old Guzzi convert, every other year, mainly because I use other bikes, not because I couldn’t use it every year,
I have a 1974 Vauxhall’s viva that I am planning on getting on the road at some time.
