Do as much homework before shelling out lots of money on parts or the build. Sending pics of what you intend to build and the parts you are going to use gives the person on the other end of the email a better idea of what your building, it gets it across more than words can.
I emailed back and forth with the guy at the top in VOSA some years back and he said everything I had mentioned to him was ok to do...... would it be ok if I send him some pictures he asked...... I saw no problem in it.
The next email I got back was less than helpful stating that he had not fully understood just by worded email what I was building and the parts being used but pictures threw a different light on things.
It turned out after some more lengthy emails that it wasn’t worth having the tallest road legal monster truck Toyota in the Uk so plans were changed.
Don’t let hearsay or incorrect information hit you in the pocket or worst case see you in court. This is not scare mongering, it’s lessons learned and research done............£36K lesson learned
