I've been onto Adams Gas about getting my hands on a hobby (90cm) sized bottle of Argon CO2. I'm aware that I need to get my hands on a new regulator to suit but my question is what regulator do I need?
I had a price from them too, and it wasn't bad, delivered. Only issue is that they have to be delivered to a business address. Once I figure out a friendly business adderss to have it sent to, I'll be ordering one. Does seem a bit funny though, it being a "hobby" bottle. I guess its a H&S requirement or something.
Actually, we pay business rates for the stables we rent out, wonder if that counts?
Craig, this is the quote I received:
£20.99 plus vat
deposit £40 fully refundable
delivery £22.97 plus vat for 1st bottle - 2nd bottle including collection £35.74 plus vat
I hope its ok for me to post the above details...
Storm monkey:
I didn't realise it had to be delivered to a business address; I had sent the enquiry by email and hadn't mentioned where I'd want them to go. I was actually intending on collecting the bottle myself instead of getting delivery.
Sounds like a similar quote. Sadly, I'm in Cumbria, so collection isn't practical. I'm sure I'll think of something though. Price and no rent is too good to miss.
That's a fair point! I'm about an hour and half away so it's not too bad, but you've got me wondering now whether they would want to know the 'business' address for their invoice and paperwork. If your paying rates on your stables that should be enough.
There is an outlet in Dunstable (less than an hour from you I think) who delivers down to Welwyn Garden City.
It's worth a call plus they can supply the correct regulator etc. There is a small bottle usage fee but this should be outweighed by greater convenience & less traveling.
storm monkey - try ringing Adams again, I was told the same about a business address, but after a few emails I managed to sort it so rang them again to explain the situation. The person who answered never even mentioned needing a business address.
