So, I've got a specialist heater. Think of it like a grill, or a heat lamp, but with a ceramic wool coating over the element.
Google BBC black flash, if you're really keen...
Anyhow, the ceramic bit is failing and no longer flat, which I need it to be. Element is fine though.
I want to just chop a sheet of, say, 2mm 5005 series alluminum and slip it into the enclosure beneath the failing ceramic surface. All it will mean really is longer heat up.
But I'll need to add expansion space. So the added sheet will be loose.
But how do I do that? It will be approx (tbc) 600mm X 450mm X say, 2mm or 1.5mm thick.
The bottom of the enclosure has a lip, so I'm hoping to remove all the existing stuff, drop my sheet in, and reload all the original stuff on top of it.
O think I best try and upload some photos tomorrow...
