Our lads have these on the sides of their harnesses.
If they end up dangling then can unhook the loops and stand in them.

I always used to carry a stanley knife when i was using a harness.
Even though the risk assesments and method statements quoted rescue plans..they didn't actualy exist.
There are lots of options for working at height rescue kits, gotcha etc or the wind up reels the scaffolders use, forget their name. A rescue plan doest need to be anything to complex, just state how you will respond should you have a person left hanging. Phone fire brigade, isnt acceptable though. Dont forget, it might be you who needs rescued.
The stanley knife method, works, but not for the faint hearted 300 foot up an offshore flare tower.
