Hi Folks,
Just got home from a short break to find that our RCD tripped while we were away. According to the house alarm panel it happened at 02:45 in the morning so I can't imagine what would have caused it to trip at that time (unless it was the fridge/freezer but that is quite new)??? We don't have any outside electricals which are not isolated by a double pole switch. The RCD itself is also quite new.
We don't keep masses in the freezer but a lot of what there is in there will be wasted - something I would like to avoid happening again.
So, my question is - what can I change to make our system more resilient to nuisance tripping?
At the moment we only have a single RCD which covers the whole house. I could swap it for a Dual RCD board, or a RCBO arrangement? What other options are there and what would be best?
Thanks in advance.
Graham
