What can I say the lady of the house is well mifed off at him . To be fair the arch was pants , don't think he had ever used a former before . took me three visits to get a good for up on the case . Matching and brick isn't possible in homes of this period they chose reclaimed rather cranberry to match ?gate looks nice
? who got the internal toilet brick work
would have been better matching the house brickwork but could have been owner been a skinflint
why didnt he match each side and then thinned it out at the top
Tell me about it ! Words do not convey my thoughts without censorshipSome strange brickwork going on here circled in blue...nice gate
Not that easy really As i had to bring s big trellis through and assesed the possibility as i was unsure if it would fit through the brick archthey have put a big wall up and a very nice gate
but the design of the brickwork is sort of ok on the inside but on the outside its basically just a ladder for the local scumbags to climb over
Oh they did notice it ! The bricky was working for them not me btw.. If a bricky was vontracted to us and produced that hole it would have been big hammer jobInteresting from a layman's point of view. Initially I thought it all looked really nice but the more it is pointed out the more I see the shoddy brickwork. Maybe the customer didn't notice the brickwork either. People pay people because they aren't experts. Paying customers aren't good judges. We're all at the mercy of tradesmen. I do like the shape and effort in the design regardless.
It's done by wrinkle Bending . Too tight for rolls ! Right old SOB. Of a job .I like this a lot, as a newbie can you explain what process or machine you used to create the curved top on the gate and frame please?

Basically it's two brave points and a push point to gradually put little kinks in . The outside of the box becomes convex the inside concave , too much too soon in any place and it's scrap !
You then of course have to gently keen \hammer things back to reasonable shape to get the sections weldable to the side jambs.
After that you have to outlets of sacrificial stats in the frames so the galvaniserers don't make more bends and curves in it and spend the next week wondering if it will come back salvageable or scrap!
God I love my job lol
