I am looking to purchase my first TIG welder, primarily for use in a small brewery. The bulk of its work will be sanitary welding SS pipe, fabricating adapters, converting SS kegs into yeast vessels etc. Most of the SS being welded will be less than 3mm thick, and a mix of 304 and 316.
I have never used a TIG machine before, but I am reasonably competent with a stick. I know I have a steep learning curve ahead of me, but I believe it's doable.
I have looked at all the usual beginner/budget/Asian TIG sets, R-Tech, Jasic, SWP, Parweld etc. With it's primary usage in mind, is there anything specific I need to look for in a machine, e.g. pulse (what range), specific torch type, max/min amps, foot pedal etc?
I appreciate you sharing your wisdom and experience.
Rich.
