It is understanding these data sheets that gets me bamboozled.
Here are two screenshots, first it says absolute Max
And then below it has this.
So both seem to be 40mA for forward current and one has forward voltage max as 1.7V and the other has reverse voltage at max 2v.
So assuming 24v, 1.7v and 40mA the calculator I looked at says 560 Ohm 2W but would I be better dropping the current down a bit by increasing the resistance, say 20mA, that would give me 1.2K Ohm.
Or am I just looking at this totally wrong?
