Well find out what it is and maybe we could talk about it.
Are you going reply to my pm
I haven't worked out how you're going fully weld without that GRP going up . . .
Easy enough, GRP is not easy to burn, despite the common myth to the contrary. A short section at a time, maybe a succession of spaced and cooled spot welds on the top rail until it is fully seam welded. Never set light to one yet and I have done a few. It also insulates the interior against the heat but my man will be on constant fire watch with the extinguishers whilst I am working.
That's posh, when I used to help a mate out with car repairs all I had was a bucket of water and a wet piece of rag
That'd bug me forever, thinking of the dirt, salt, water etc getting to that top face. At least I'd of cut the GRP out above it to get to the top surface, welded it the top side, or at least ground it off to clean it up, painted it properly, then glassed it back in.
Given enough space and time, I'd have the shell off . . . which is why mine is still sat until I have . . . ;-)
